Allergies don’t always have a one size fits all solution. The below remedies show some evidence that they are helpful for allergy symptoms like itchy eyes, runny/congested nose, and allergic-type asthma. Their effectiveness is backed up by a few small research studies, some with conflicting evidence. By themselves they may not be any more effective than over the counter antihistamines like Claritin or Allegra. They may work more if used in combination with antihistamines or nasal steroids. They should be found at local health food stores or online.
- Local Honey: There are conflicting studies on this. In the study that did show effectiveness, the patients were taking about 3 Tablespoons a day. Probably would be more effective, if the honey is taken year-round.
- Tinospora cordifolia
- Commercial product containing Cinnamon bark, Spanish needle, and Acerola
- Benifuuki green tea
- Yupingfeng granules
- Fermented Red Ginseng
- Capsaicin Nasal Spray
- Cellulose Powder Nasal Spray
- Acupuncture: There are conflicting studies on this
